Who Could Say No???

Well, it's been just over a week since I arrived at my foster home and I've been working my puppy magic to win hearts and score a permanent place on "The Couch." I must be making progress b/c my foster mom took me to Petsmart today and bought me my own special "necklace"...all of the Doodles in this house have a different one that represents them. Mine is black & red leather with red dog bones. It's quite fashionable!

And while it might be unnecessary to tell you this...I REALLY LIKE TOYS!! Toys rock!! I can't believe how many toys we have around here! It's AWESOME!! The pupper called Annabelle has warmed up to me and has spent the most time playing with me and teaching me appropriate behaviors. For example, I learned pretty fast that she does NOT enjoy being body-slammed or head-butted. I also learned that the one called Winston does NOT like to have his tail chewed on...he makes a horrible, high pitched noise that gets every one's attention. The one called Pfoebe is still a bit of a mystery to me. I REALLY want to play with her b/c she seems like she'd be a LOT of fun...but she rarely seems interested. And when she is, it doesn't last for long. Oh well...anybody who knows Pfoebe knows that she's cute but prickly (you can tell b/c her "necklace" is pink leather with silver spikes). I'm sure she won't be able to resist my charms forever so I'll just give her all the time she needs. Before she knows it, she's going to love me as much as the rest of the family!

The one called "Dad" is cool; he's REAL good at playing. In fact, he's so talented that somehow he can play with all 4 of us at one time! He must be what they call a "Pro". And the "Mom"...well, she's pretty swell, too. She plays OK...but boy does she smell good! And she's the BEST at snuggling! Anytime I get scared or just need a little bit of love I know I can run right over to her and she'll smooch me up until everything is OK again. And I really like to help her pull weeds when we go outside, it makes me feel like I'm doing my part. Although I'm not supposed to do so much digging so I've got some more studying to do before I figure this out.

They say that I'm doing pretty well with something called "potty training." They seem to like it best when I potty outside...so I'm really trying to figure out the best ways to tell them it's time. But you know how it is; when nature calls you just can't wait very long! Sometime the humans are a little thick headed...but I'm sure I'll figure out how to let them know.

I've attached a couple of photos so you can experience my charms for yourself!!

Hello World!

Hi there, I'm Angus. I'm a long hair dachshund puppy and I'm about 9-10 weeks old. For some crazy reason I ended up at a shelter with my 3 litter mates when we were only a few weeks old. Lucky for me a wonderful lady named Deborah from "Forgotten Friends - Mixed Breed Rescue" in Leander, TX saw me and thought I was too precious to not take home with her. My luck really changed when one of their wonderful volunteers (Debby) mentioned me to a co-worker (Beth). You see, Beth and her husband (Dave) are just CRAZY about Wiener Dogs and Debby knew this. In a few short days the wheels were in motion for me to go home and live with them and their 3 dachshunds...Winston, Annabelle and Pfoebe for a little while as a foster puppy.

I arrived at their house today, met the "Puppers" (aka the "Doodles") and I fit right in. We've explored the big backyard, played a little bit and took a nap on something called "The Couch". This is a wonderful place...I think I will work very hard to be a good boy so I get to spend more time on it! I'm not available for adoption just yet...I'm not quite old enough. But, I wanted to go ahead and introduce myself to the world.
